Gator eggs are an exotic item in Red Dead Redemption 2. Found in select areas throughout Lemoyne, gator eggs are prized by collectors, including being one of the requested exotic items in the Stranger mission duch*esses and Other Animals.

It has been used both historically and in contemporary times in various cuisines of the Southern United States. Alligator eggs can also be consumed. Alligator meat is high in protein and low in fat, and has a mild flavor and firm texture.

A small alligator carcass can be placed on the back of the horse, but a regular size carcass cannot be picked up, like the Boar. One perfect alligator skin is needed for the Alligator Ranch Cutter Saddle at the Trapper.

The Legendary Bullgator will not spawn or appear on the map until players have completed Chapter 6.

Back at the farm, the eggs are put into incubators and approximately 65 days later the alligator babies (hatchlings) are taken out. Alligators Farmers raise alligators until they reach approximately 3′ to 5′ in length. This is when the farmers have release the alligators back into nature.

There are a total of three clues to be found before engaging with the legendary alligator, after which Arthur is free to engage with it until it either flees or he completes the hunt. Some players have had issues when hunting the legendary alligator with it not respawning after it flees.
